Day Trip Itinerary: Chalkida – Aegina

Early morning departure for the port of Piraeus, where we will board the ferry to Aegina.

Upon arrival, we will visit the Church of Saint Nektarios. Saint Nektarios is one of the most recently recognized Saints of the Orthodox Church and is revered as the patron saint of the poor. We will have free time at the monastery for a visit and pilgrimage.

Please note that appropriate attire is required when visiting the monastery. Women should wear skirts, while men should wear long trousers or Bermuda shorts.

We then return to Aegina Town to experience the island’s famous Pistachio Festival. The heart of the festivities is the commercial exhibition along the port, featuring more than 50 stalls offering visitors large quantities of locally produced pistachios and a variety of pistachio-based products, including pistachio ice cream.

At the festival, visitors can also discover handmade pottery, traditional Aegina honey, local cheeses, handmade lace, and a wide variety of jewellery.

Free time to explore the festival, enjoy a coffee, and have lunch at your own expense.

Finally, we make our way back to the port of Aegina and board the ferry to Piraeus, returning with wonderful memories and the best impressions of the Pistachio Festival in Aegina.
