Discover Thessaloniki, visit the monastery associated with Saint Paisios, explore the historic Roupel Fort, and experience the breathtaking natural beauty of Lake Kerkini. A truly special journey filled with unforgettable experiences and beautiful moments that will stay with you long after your return.

  • Day 1: Chalkida – Souroti / Saint Paisios – Thessaloniki

Meeting and departure from Chalkida at 7:00 AM for a unique and memorable journey to Thessaloniki. After an intermediate stop near Agios Konstantinos for a short break, we continue to Souroti.

There, we will have the opportunity to visit the monastery, home to the relics of Saint Arsenios the Cappadocian, and pay our respects at the tomb of Saint Paisios.

Tip: Visitors wishing to enter the monastery should wear appropriate attire. Women are required to wear a long dress or skirt, while men should wear long trousers. The monastery does not provide clothing for visitors.

We then continue to Thessaloniki, where we will have time for lunch before checking in at the Imperial Plus 5★ Hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore the city and enjoy an evening out.

Day 2: Roupel Fort – Metaxas Line – Lake Kerkini

After breakfast, we depart for the historic Metaxas Line and Roupel Fort. Following a route of great historical significance, we will visit this impressive defensive complex, which formed part of Greece’s line of defence along the Greek-Bulgarian border.

The fortifications include 1,849 metres of shelters and 4,251 metres of tunnels, with the specific sector staffed by 80 Greek soldiers.

After our visit, we continue to Lake Kerkini, one of Greece’s internationally recognized wetlands, renowned for its exceptional biodiversity.

Free time to enjoy a leisurely walk, a boat ride, coffee, and birdwatching. You can also savour traditional local cuisine, with specialties such as buffalo, venison, wild boar, and many other local delicacies, depending on your preference.

We return to our hotel for some time to relax, followed by free time for an optional evening outing in Ladadika.

    Overnight stay.

    Day 3: Thessaloniki – Chalkida

After breakfast and enjoying the comforts of our hotel, we begin our final day dedicated to Thessaloniki, the “Bride of the Thermaic Gulf.”

We begin with the city’s iconic landmark, the White Tower. We continue our tour with a visit to the statue of Alexander the Great and the famous “Umbrellas” sculpture by George Zongolopoulos, one of the city’s most photographed landmarks.

We then visit the Church of Saint Demetrius for a pilgrimage.

Free time for lunch and, of course, the opportunity to taste some of Thessaloniki’s famous sweet treats, including Panorama triangles, filled tsoureki, and the city’s renowned bougatsa.

Finally, we begin our return journey to Chalkida, with intermediate stops along the way.
