Day Trip Itinerary: Chalkida – Vasta, Arcadia
Early morning departure from Chalkida, with an intermediate stop and time for coffee in Artemisio.
We continue our journey towards the impressive city of Megalopoli and the village of Vasta, where we will visit the small Church of Saint Theodora.
The chapel is considered one of nature’s wonders, as seventeen oak trees have miraculously grown through its roof. According to local tradition, this extraordinary phenomenon is connected to the martyrdom of Saint Theodora. The branches emerge through the roof, while the roots are nowhere to be seen. A stream flows beneath the chapel, providing water to the trees.
According to historical accounts and local tradition, this phenomenon is associated with Saint Theodora’s final prayer before her martyrdom: “May my hair become trees and my blood a river to water them.” Her wish is said to have come true.
We will have free time for a visit and pilgrimage, followed by lunch at a traditional local taverna of your choice.
In the afternoon, we depart for Chalkida, with an intermediate stop for coffee along the way.

A 50% deposit of the total value of the selected package is required to secure your reservation.
The remaining balance must be paid 5 days prior to departure.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
In the event of cancellation, the deposit or full payment will be refunded in full provided that the cancellation is made at least 14 days prior to departure.
For cancellations made within 14 days of departure, the amount paid is non-refundable and cannot be transferred or credited towards another travel package.
