Description

Thessaloniki: The second largest city in Greece, built along the Thermaic Gulf. It combines a rich history, multicultural identity, and vibrant modern life.

Excursion Itinerary

We depart from Chalkida at 6:00 a.m., and after the necessary stop for rest, we arrive at Ambelakia—the historic noble village of Kissavos. Built on the northwestern slopes of Mount Kissavos (Ossa), at the entrance of the Tempi Valley, at an altitude of approximately 400 meters, the road leading there offers stunning views of the Thessalian plain.

The village flourished in the 18th–19th century thanks to its yarn processing and red dyeing (from the plant rizari), and it was here, in 1778, that the first cooperative in the world was established: the “Common Company” (a cooperative for trade and craft activities).

You can visit the Folklore & Historical Museum housed in the "Molas Mansion", displaying traditional clothing, tools, and everyday objects from the era. The village is dotted with stone fountains, quaint alleyways, and has just a few dozen permanent residents—though they open their homes and tavernas on weekends for visitors.

We'll have free time to explore this wonderful village at our own pace.

Our next destination is the beautiful city of Thessaloniki, where we’ll take a brief panoramic tour of its most important landmarks. The rest of the day will be free for personal exploration—shopping in the city’s many stores, enjoying coffee or food along the lively seaside promenade.

After breakfast, we will depart for a wonderful cruise around Mount Athos.

This unique experience begins at the port of Ouranoupoli and includes:

Sailing approximately 500 meters from the coastline of Mount Athos, viewing the monasteries of the western peninsula by sea.

A guided narration throughout the cruise.

You’ll see many of the most important monasteries, including:

The cruise also includes time for leisure and entertainment, such as a stop in Ouranoupoli or Ammouliani, with free time for a walk, meal, or even swimming (depending on the cruise itinerary).

In the late afternoon, we return to the hotel for overnight stay and dinner.
After breakfast and check-out, we will head to Edessa to explore the area.
There, we’ll admire:
The Waterfall Park, the city’s most famous attraction.
The impressive Karanos Waterfall (70 meters tall) and the smaller nearby waterfall.
We'll walk behind the waterfall for a truly unique experience and stroll along paths with views over the plain.
Next, we’ll visit the Open-Air Water Museum—the only one of its kind in Greece—where we’ll learn about the traditional use of water in textile and craft production.
We’ll also walk through the traditional district of Edessa, filled with Macedonian-style mansions, ideal for photos.
You’ll have free time to explore hidden corners of the town, enjoy your coffee, and then we’ll head to the Pozar Thermal Baths—natural spa waters at 37°C, either in indoor pools or outdoor natural pools.
There will be free time to enjoy the spa, followed by lunch in a local taverna. (We recommend trying: trout, wild boar, trahana soup, cheese pies.)
In the afternoon, we will return to Chalkida, with rest stops along the way.

General terms and conditions of participation in an organized trip

Please read carefully the following General Terms of Participation, which constitute an integral part of the organized travel contract, as well as information and any other recommendations given to you, before registering for any of our organized trips.

Payment of the required advance payment (50%) or the entire amount, in cash, via credit/debit or prepaid card or by bank transfer to the tourist office.

Unreserved acceptance and compliance with these General Terms and Conditions. For valid registration, the specific trip must be indicated on the receipt of payment of the advance or prepayment, with the dates of departure and return and any other distinctive elements.

The right to participate in the trip is secured by paying the full value and related charges 7 full days before departure.

Failure to pay the full value of the trip within the stipulated time gives our Tourist Office the right to cancel the reservation and possibly demand cancellation fees, in accordance with the cancellation terms provided herein.

Cancellations

In order to implement an organized trip, it is necessary to ensure the minimum number of travelers, on which the costing of the relevant package is based. This number differs for each trip.

Cancellations of participation by the traveler are made in writing to our office or by telephone or after a visit to our office and, regardless of the date of the reservation. In particular:

In case of cancellation of the excursion 11 days (multi-day) or 6 days (single-day) before departure, a 100% refund will be given.

In case of cancellation of the excursion from 9 to 6 days before departure, the reservation will be transferred to another person under the conditions mentioned in Article 6 of the General Terms of Participation)

In the event that a replacement cannot be found, the money can be credited to a later trip within 2 months.

In case of cancellation of the excursion from 6 days (multi-day) or 2 days (single-day) up to the day of departure, the entire amount will be withheld.

In the event of cancellation of the trip by our Tourist Office and if the time of booking allows, the following deadlines for informing the Traveler and 100% refund are followed:

a) 10 days before the departure date, when the trip lasts more than six (6) days.

b) 7 days before the departure date, when the trip lasts between four (4) and five (5) days.

c) 5 days before the departure date, when the trip lasts between two (2) and three (3) days.

d) 48 hours when the trip lasts one (1) day (Day trip).

Notes

* The program may be modified for its best implementation depending on conditions (weather conditions, delays, etc.).

* Prices in the event of increases in fuel, ferry tickets, accommodation costs, etc. will be adjusted accordingly with timely information.

* We kindly ask you to arrive at the boarding points on time.

* Boarding and assembly times must be adhered to for the proper operation of the program

* Food consumption is not allowed on the bus.

*In case of failure to arrive at the boarding points on time, the bus will depart without the office being held responsible, and the money will not be refunded.

Seat reservations on the bus are on a priority basis.

All travelers are informed by SMS or phone with detailed departure information 1 day before the trip.
