After breakfast, we board the bus with high spirits and cameras in hand to visit the traditional villages of Pelion. Our first destination is Tsagarada. The old cobblestone road (2 km) is worth the walk, alternating with a dirt path starting from the square of the Archangel. First stop at the Kartalio Elementary School, where the humidity and dense vegetation conceal the dilapidated building. Towering plane trees, wild chestnut trees, and beeches hide the sky. Fallen chestnuts and plane leaves, in all shades of yellow and orange, create "earth carpets." Ferns line the path that passes through ravines and small streams, crossing wooden bridges, small weavings, and houses of Pelion. The sound of water will accompany you at every step. Free time for exploration. Your next stop is Portaria, known as "Pyli". As you pass the traditional building of the old Town Hall, the uphill and invigorating sound of the crystal waters will accompany you to the central square. It is covered with plane tree leaves, and the tall plane trees are surrounded by dozens of hydrangeas and camellias in a unique image. Free time to explore and, of course, enjoy our lunch. Our last stop will be the nearby village Makrinitsa, known as the "balcony of Pelion". The old watermills, stone churches, and countless mansions built with the unique and charming Pelion architecture create a charming and harmonious landscape. In the central square, we will find traditional shops loaded with tasty treats and beautiful souvenirs. Free time to explore and, of course, enjoy our coffee or dessert. Return to our hotel and rest.
