Description

Departure from Athens with a flight to Madrid. Upon arrival, we begin our first acquaintance with the city directly through a panoramic tour with our bus. During the journey, we will stop to take photos at iconic spots, such as Plaza Castilla with its twin curved towers (Puerta de Europa) and the Plaza de Toros Las Ventas, the largest bullring in Spain. Next, we'll enjoy a stroll in Retiro Park, Madrid's largest natural lung, where we'll also see its picturesque artificial lake. Arrival at the hotel, check-in, and some time to rest. In the afternoon, we start a walk in the historic center, visiting Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, and the Mercado de San Miguel market, where you will have free time for dinner.
After breakfast, we start our day with a beautiful walk to the famous Prado Museum. During the journey, we will pass Plaza Colón, Paseo de Recoletos, and the impressive Plaza de Cibeles with the Bank of Spain and the City Hall. Crossing Paseo del Prado, we will arrive at the Museum, one of the world's most important art galleries.
During our tour (1 hour and 35 minutes), with a professional guide, we will see works by El Greco, Velázquez, and Goya from the Spanish School, as well as selected masterpieces from the Venetian and Flemish Schools. Next, we'll have an hour free for additional sightseeing or to visit the museum's gift shop. We continue our day with a tour of elegant Bourbon Madrid, with its grand squares and boulevards, and then to charming Habsburg Madrid, with its narrow streets and the legendary Barrio de las Letras literary neighborhood. The rest of the day is free for personal exploration. We recommend trying the famous chocolate con churros at San Ginés or enjoying authentic tapas at one of the traditional bars in La Latina. For the afternoon, we suggest visiting the Reina Sofia Museum, where the masterpiece "Guernica" by Pablo Picasso is on display on the second floor, along with works by Joan Miró and Salvador Dalí.
After breakfast, we depart for Toledo, the historic capital of Spain and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We start with a panoramic tour around the city, stopping at a great viewpoint to capture the breathtaking scenery where Toledo will be presented to us like a "bride showing off her wedding dress" through its stone walls and historical monuments.Next, we will visit the Damascus and Swords Factory Annex, where we will see up close two of Toledo's most characteristic crafts. The art of damask, which dates back to the Middle Ages, involves intricate inlaying of gold and silver on iron surfaces, creating unique jewelry and decorative items. We continue our walking tour, crossing the old town from one end to the other and stopping at the Church of St. Thomas to admire El Greco's masterpiece "The Burial of the Count of Orgaz". Later, we will visit the Cathedral of Toledo, one of the most impressive in Europe, where unique works of art are kept. Free time for a stroll, then return to Madrid in the afternoon. In the evening, we suggest you end your day by enjoying an optional, thrilling flamenco show that captures the passion and dynamism of Spanish culture.
Free day in Madrid. Alternatively, you can participate in the optional excursion to medieval Segovia. On this excursion, we will stroll through the picturesque cobblestone streets of the city and see the magnificent 2,000-year-old Roman Aqueduct. Then, we will see the historic Plaza Mayor and the enchanting Alcázar de Segovia, the castle that inspired the Disney fairy tales. During our stay, you will have the opportunity to taste local specialties, such as the famous cochinillo (crispy suckling pig) or the sweet Ponche Segoviano. Return to Madrid in the afternoon.

After breakfast, we depart for Madrid Airport and return to Athens, bringing back unforgettable memories and images of the enchanting Spanish capital and its historic cities.

General terms and conditions of participation in an organized trip

Please read carefully the following General Terms of Participation, which constitute an integral part of the organized travel contract, as well as information and any other recommendations given to you, before registering for any of our organized trips.

Payment of the required advance payment (50%) or the entire amount, in cash, via credit/debit or prepaid card or by bank transfer to the tourist office.

Unreserved acceptance and compliance with these General Terms and Conditions. For valid registration, the specific trip must be indicated on the receipt of payment of the advance or prepayment, with the dates of departure and return and any other distinctive elements.

The right to participate in the trip is secured by paying the full value and related charges 7 full days before departure.

Failure to pay the full value of the trip within the stipulated time gives our Tourist Office the right to cancel the reservation and possibly demand cancellation fees, in accordance with the cancellation terms provided herein.

Cancellations

In order to implement an organized trip, it is necessary to ensure the minimum number of travelers, on which the costing of the relevant package is based. This number differs for each trip.

Cancellations of participation by the traveler are made in writing to our office or by telephone or after a visit to our office and, regardless of the date of the reservation. In particular:

In case of cancellation of the excursion 11 days (multi-day) or 6 days (single-day) before departure, a 100% refund will be given.

In case of cancellation of the excursion from 9 to 6 days before departure, the reservation will be transferred to another person under the conditions mentioned in Article 6 of the General Terms of Participation)

In the event that a replacement cannot be found, the money can be credited to a later trip within 2 months.

In case of cancellation of the excursion from 6 days (multi-day) or 2 days (single-day) up to the day of departure, the entire amount will be withheld.

In the event of cancellation of the trip by our Tourist Office and if the time of booking allows, the following deadlines for informing the Traveler and 100% refund are followed:

a) 10 days before the departure date, when the trip lasts more than six (6) days.

b) 7 days before the departure date, when the trip lasts between four (4) and five (5) days.

c) 5 days before the departure date, when the trip lasts between two (2) and three (3) days.

d) 48 hours when the trip lasts one (1) day (Day trip).
