Description
If it weren't a city, it would be a work of art. Romantic, historical, art-loving, gourmet, cinematic, retro, and modern, and above all, lively, Paris maintains its cosmopolitan character unchanged. With its museums, squares, gardens, mansions, and small corners and haunts that have been celebrated by great writers, the City of Light introduces itself to you.....
Description
Is there a better way to start a tour of Paris than a visit to the city's landmark? The rhetorical question is naturally answered with a resounding no. The Eiffel Tower and the Trocadero will give us a first taste of Paris. At the same time, the Arc de Triomphe, the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, which is festively illuminated at night, the Petit and Grand Palais, the Place de la Concorde, the impressive Opera House, the busy Grands Boulevards, the Louvre Museum with its famous pyramids, the French Academy, the Courthouse, the new Pont Neuf bridge, the City Hall, give the city's character as we pass in front of them, leaving expressions of admiration. The 2019 fire may have severely damaged the roof of the city's beloved cathedral, but Notre Dame (the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris) has lost nothing of its status, continuing to stand tall in front of the flashing cameras that capture it. The Pantheon, the colorful Luxembourg Gardens, the artistic Saint-Germain area, and the School of Fine Arts will elevate the Parisian aura of our tour before we head to the hotel. Paris, adorned with all manner of lights, introduces itself through its bars, restaurants, and cafes, inviting us to a romantic outing.
Between the Louvre and the Place de la Concorde lies France's most famous public garden, which we'll access via the metro. With a multitude of tall trees and beautiful varieties of flowers, the Kermec Gardens offer us the opportunity for an excellent morning stroll that will take us right in front of the door of the world's largest museum. With over 30,000 exhibits, the Louvre is a tourist mecca in its own right, where the Venus de Milo and the Nike of Samothrace showcase the grandeur of Greek spirit, while Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa smiles enigmatically as the undisputed diva. At the same time, famous Renaissance paintings, works of neoclassicism and romanticism await to take their share of admiration in our tour. If you wish, you can extend your stay at the museum. Next is the Frangonard Perfume Museum near the Opera, where we will be swept away by a wonderful olfactory game. From Marie Antoinette's perfume box to the "oxydes," small vials with strong scents that helped women regain their senses after fainting due to the tight corsets they wore, the Fraganar family's mansion (which was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2018) has many interesting stories to tell about the high art of global perfumery. The vibrant city of Paris awaits you in the free time that follows, ready to be explored step by step. Whether you choose to spend the day in the wonderful markets or decide to climb the Palais de Saïgon for a unique photo of the Eiffel Tower, the city with its large, busy streets and small alleys is full of surprises. The Musée d'Orsay, which houses exhibits of sculpture, painting, and other works of art, is relatively close by architecture, photography, and graphic arts.Alternatively, we suggest a cruise on the Seine, where you can gently float under legendary bridges on a picturesque bateau, admiring the city's most beautiful corners. Taking a tour of the Île de la Cité, Notre-Dame de Paris looks more beautiful than ever!
Our suggestion for today's free breakfast is an optional visit to one of Paris' most popular destinations, and not unjustly so. The Palace and Park of Versailles, built on the orders of Louis XIII, are not only among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, but also one of the most important palaces in the world, a symbol of the most impressive form that the word luxury has ever taken. The palace, which covers an area of 63,154 square meters, includes 700 rooms and more than 10,000 works of art, while the famous Gardens of Versailles are a unique marvel of horticultural architecture that will fascinate you.
Cost of optional +€80 for transportation and tour (minimum participation 15 people)
Additional €30 cost for palace entrance with headphones
This afternoon, we'll take the subway to the neighborhood of Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Picasso. The picturesque Montmartre with the Sacre Coeur Basilica, the quaint alleys, and the square with the painters, gives us a sufficiently artistic taste of Paris that, despite its tourist appeal, can still keep alive the bohemian spirit that characterizes it. Explore the area and then return to the hotel at your convenience. And if most poets and writers have something to say about the famous Parisian nights, the night spreads like a promise in the City of Light. Whether you watch the spectacular show at Paradis Latin or indulge in the rich nightlife, you're sure to be captivated by the nightlife in the city!
Sleeping Beauty sleeps undisturbed while a dragon breathes fire, Jack Sparrow takes us on a magical journey with the "Pirates of the Caribbean", Indiana Jones searches for traces of ancient treasures in "Adventure Land", and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will guide us through "Fantasy Land". Everything in Disneyland is possible! Next to the Disneyland park, another equally magical world, that of cinema and television, awaits us to be discovered. The Walt Disney Studios Park consists of 4 thematic units that offer wonderful spectacles such as Crush's Coaster, Stitch, Rock n' Roller Coaster, etc. At the end of the day, Mickey and his friends offer a spectacular finale full of glitter, color and beauty, and gives us the feeling that - even for a little while - we became children again. Return to Paris in the evening.
Caution! Registration for the optional excursion requires the purchase of an entrance ticket and must be done from Greece along with your trip registration.
Cost per adult or child: €175 for 1 park / €200 for 2 parks.
Includes transportation to/from the park (minimum 15 people).
Next to the park, there is a RER train station in case you want to return to Paris earlier at your own expense.
Filled with beautiful images, we take the flight to Greece. We may be leaving the City of Light, but the renewal of our faith in the romance and beauty of life is enough to know that we will always have Paris within us.
